Who is this oversized man
that entered my dreams
last night?

Are you here to remind me
that we are not to be held in
by this flesh?

Or that this room
is just a compartment?

And why are you hiding
your face?

Your lanky limbs scrunching.
you are all bones -

too large for
the spaces you occupy

A point in the sky
How far off
it seems

Maybe it’s her that crosses over to the other world.

Is it possible to jump dimensions?
To wade along the edge of timelessness?

Another mark shows up,
and another…

She sits silently now
listening to the stories that float through space looking for somewhere to land.

TAZ’S POEM 3.30.2021

On A Sunny Spring Afternoon

She lays at my feet,
This crazy, sweet and wild creature.

My heart pierced and tethered
as we enjoy the slowness
of this sunny afternoon.

She hates it when I get ambitious.
she notices the change in me.
An urgency.
My blood pounding,
Heart-racing intensity.

She’d prefer I sit with fresh breezes
and a few words on the page.
A nap, and yes, soon,
a stroll around the block.

There is beauty in listening to the breeze.
That must be what the birds are talking about.
What she’s trying to show me with all her interruptions.

Forget that nonsense, she commands;
we have all we need right here.
